Derek primarily focuses on advising clients on risk management and corporate governance frameworks, IT risk management, project risk and operational internal controls.

Based in Hong Kong for the last 8 years, Derek actively supports the UK Institute of Internal Auditors contributing articles, whilst also representing the local Hong Kong IIA Chapter at seminars. Other interests include delivering training courses on the subjects of internal audit methodology, risk management, change management and information security.

Derek holds the MIIA and QiCA qualifications with the UK Institute of Internal Auditors, the CISSP certification with ISC2, and has held the CISA designation with ISACA.   Mr. Michael Mudd

Mike Mudd is the Chief Representative of the OCA in the region, please see (www.opencomputingalliance.org) He brings many years of regional experience to the OCA, encompassing Japan to Australia and China to India. This region, home to half the world's population is also amongst the most dynamic and challenging for the ICT industry. He is based in Hong Kong and administers the OCA through his own company, Asia Policy Partners LLC.

Before joining the OCA, he was Director of Public Policy for Asia Pacific for one of the world's leading IT associations, CompTIA, opened the A-P office in Hong Kong, in 2004. Prior to this Mike was a Senior Manager with Standard Chartered Bank PLC, a major UK emerging market bank in the wholesale banks e-commerce group. Previously he was the Commercial Director for the e commerce division of the Noble Group, Asia's fastest growing trader of physical commodities.

With 32 year's experience in multicultural management in the Asia Pacific region, including extended assignments in China and Vietnam, Mike brings to the OCA hands on experience of working with high-level decision makers in both government and industry. Holding positions in general management in the information/service and communication industries, he has a proven track record in developing pro-business positions by working with governments from Minister, Vice Minister and Director head level and CEO's MD's, CFO's, CTO's, CIO's, in industry.

Mike studied at the University of Western Australia where he read economics and has written detailed research reports on a number of Asian economies on the economic impact of technology and science, and regularly contributes to regional media on the IT industry on open trade and the positive impact to development of emerging economies that ICT brings.

He is a presenter at regional IT forums, including OECD and APEC events and is an appointed expert to the ISO in Geneva for JTC-1 for IT related standards. An invited advisor on ICT in Vietnam, he was also recently appointed an advisor to the Ministry of Information and Communications, Thailand, and is also head of the Business Advisory Group in the ongoing US - Vietnam ICT Dialogue. He also represented CompTIA and the IT industry at the Sixth WTO Ministerial Conference in Hong Kong in 2005.

Mike also regularly acts as chairman, moderator and speaker at regional ICT events; is a frequent contributor to the business press. He is an active member of the IT, IP and Telecom committees at a number of Amcham's in Hong Kong, Beijing, Manila, Kuala Lumpur and Hanoi, where he is the Chair of the IT, IP and Telecom's Committee, since 2007.

When not occupying seat 54C on Cathay Pacific, Mike enjoys boating in Hong Kong with his wife, Lily. He recently completed a long-standing dream to sail around Cape Horn, Chile, as skipper of a 13-metre alloy sloop.

Cenk is a native Austrian born in 1962. He graduated from University in Bonn, Germany with a diploma in Information Management. After starting at Bayer in 1989 as system analyst he held several managerial positions within IT. He headed application development, application support as well as infrastructure support functions. From 1999 to 2003 he was in charge of Bayer's IT in Japan, where he built up a shared service center for all IT functions in the country. He moved back to Germany in 2003 to oversee PC and infrastructure services for 40.000 users. August 2005 he returned to Asia, as Head of Bayer Business Services providing support for 20.000 employees across 15 countries in the region.

He has held the post of managing director or equivalent for four companies in four countries. Citi today announced that it has appointed Endre Markos as Head of Electronic Markets and Platforms, Asia-Pacific, for its Securities and Fund Services business. Prior to joining Citi, Markos was with Bloomberg LP for nearly 15 years, during its rapid rise in the financial information and technology space. His appointment underscores Citi's commitment to providing clients with leading Electronic Markets expertise in the Securities and Fund Services business.

In his new role, Markos is part of an Electronic Markets transformation program, whose objective is to increase the number of knowledgeable and experienced information industry professionals in client-facing roles. Citi's Securities and Fund Services business provides investors with tailored solutions delivered through proven global platforms that feature modular, open architecture. Markos will lead Citi's Electronic Markets developments, including the CitiDirect® suite of products, CitiConnect, Execution-to-Custody and a variety of other connectivity solutions, designed to bring new processing efficiencies by improving the flow of information within and between counterparties. As an Electronic Markets specialist, he will also be working with the bank's Intermediaries group to expand Citi's on-exchange clearing platform in Asia-Pacific, with a focus on the changing roles of local exchanges, clearing and securities depositories.

Based in Hong Kong, Markos will report to David Russell, Managing Director, Region Head of Securities and Fund Services, Asia Pacific, and globally to New York-based Curt Brill, Global Head of Electronic Markets at Citi.

In the current capacity, Charles is responsible to establish management directives (written policies) on information security across the Group, provide risk advisories for information processing, transmission and storage facilities. This includes everything - business process/applications, IT/Telecom infrastructure, energy control systems and unstructure information. Peter Mo is Head of IT for Greater China at Credit Suisse Asia Pacific. He is responsible for leading and managing all IT services and deliveries to the bank's Investment Bank, Private Bank, Asset Management and Shared Services functions in Hong Kong, Taiwan and People's Republic of China.

Mr Mo joined Credit Suisse in 1998 and has worked in Application Development, Fixed Income Front Office IT, Project Office and Operational Excellence, Regional IT COO and IT Risk and Security Management.

He started his career in Accenture specialising in information technology consultancy for financial services. He has since worked in Canada, the United States, Japan and Hong Kong.

Mr Mo graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and received an MBA from the University of Washington.

His experience in the area of information technology procurement and outsourcing transactions includes transactions involving infrastructure, applications maintenance, development and support, network management, telecommunications services, and help desk functions, as well as implementation and integration of major enterprise applications and systems. Daniel Lai is a seasoned IT professional with 40 years experience in information technology in Hong Kong and Australia. He is responsible for providing a vision for and strategic directions on IT at MTR. Prior to joining MTR in 1999, he held various senior IT managerial positions with The Hong Kong Jockey Club. He is currently Chairman of Hong Kong CIO Board, and President of China CIO Forum.

Daniel graduated from Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Management and Computing Studies and from Griffith University with a Master in Technology Management. Daniel has led many innovative and large scale IT projects and managed large computer installations. He has developed and implemented IT governance, programme and project management, and outsourcing frameworks.

Daniel contributed significantly in promoting and developing the application of IT in Hong Kong and the region, he has held many positions in public services and educational institutions.

In recognition of his contribution to the development and promotion of IT in business and community, he was awarded Bronze Bauhinia Star (BBS) in 2004. He was awarded CIO Awards (Asia CIO Magazine) three times in 2003, 2005 and 2008, CIO of the Year by ZDnet in 2006, China Distinguished CIO Award 2007, nominated a Computerworld Honour Laureate's in 2004, and named by MIS Magazine in 2004 one of the most influential IT leaders in North Asia.

Prior to Riverbed he served as VP of Marketing APAC for CipherTrust (acquired by Secure Computing Corp). Mr. Serrano performed as Director for security products marketing for Juniper Networks via the acquisition of NetScreen Technologies where he held a variety of senior management positions, including Sr. director of product management (USA) and Sr director of marketing APAC. Prior to NetScreen, he was director of business development at Bell Labs Research.

He also co-founded and served as CEO for Network Tools. He served in senior positions in sales, marketing and product management at start‐up SynOptics Communications/Bay Networks (acquired by Nortel). He was vice president at the HSBC banking corporation as well as serving in senior management roles at JP Morgan Bank and Citibank. Serrano spent nine years with the US Air Force and was responsible for the planning, design, installation and deployment of large-scale communication systems, including satellite systems, fiber optics, voice and data systems, cryptographic systems and wireless communications. Sheung-chi has joined SafeNet Asia as Security Consultant since 2005. He possesses solid knowledge in both mobile and internet security from solution development/architect to system review/analysis.

Prior to SafeNet, he took Technical Consultant role in several multi-national IT security vendors like Betrusted (now Cybertrust) and PrivyLink. Previously, He was one of the members of Center of Wireless Information Technology (CenWIT) in The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The major contribution of him was to develop a new algorithm in the cellular receiver to reduce the power consumption and complexity. That algorithm was filed in US patent in 1997. Besides, He joined the New Concept Implementation Group of Nokia Research Center in Finland to participate in developing one of the world first testbeds for 3rd Generation wireless communication system.

Apart from knowledge in mobile communication, he possesses solid knowledge in the area of internet/information security, He got involved in various information security related project s such as fingerprint recognition algorithm development, PDA-based mobile internet security platform protocol design, WAP-based security platform development and Smart-Card-based or HSM-based PKI application design/development.

He was the chief architect of the first commercial WPKI solution in Hong Kong. He invented the first WML script-based pin security solution for a local bank in Hong Kong. He developed a XML security gateway deployed in Macau. He participated in IT solution security review for Hong Kong Government and an investment bank in Singapore. He participated in a lot of critical IT security projects for banks/government in Asia pacific.

He received the Bachelor of Engineering degree and Master of Philosophy degree, all from Electrical an Electronic Engineering department in The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He also received a Diploma degree of Information and Internet security from The City University of Hong Kong. He is now a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information System Auditor (CISA).

Brian Tan is the Technical Consultant for Sourcefire at ASEAN. Brian has more than 10 years of professional experience in the security and network industry. Prior to Sourcefire, Brian had served as the Technical Consultant for RSA Security (acquired by EMC) and Senior Technical Consultant for Imperva, responsible for providing technical assistance during the sales cycles for customers throughout ASEAN.

Throughout his career, Brian was involved with many clients on their security architecture, including areas such as perimeter security, two-factor authentication, web application security and database security and monitoring. He currently holds the CISSP and GCIH certifications.
