Mr Lau is a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Co, and the Greater China Head for its Telecom, Media and Technology (TMT) Practice. He has been advising media and Internet companies, telecom operators and consumer electronics makers on strategy, finance, marketing and organization transformations since the late 1990s. He has worked across the media space, advising TV broadcasters, cable operators, movie studios and print/music publishers in Asia. Dr. Charm is a Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) of TDWI in the US. He also completed a Big Data Certification Program of MIT Sloan School of Management. The research area for Dr. Charm's doctoral thesis was Impact of Organizational Capability on BI and CRM Success. Dr. Charm possesses DBA, MBA and B.Sc. qualification. He has also completed a number of senior executive programs from Harvard, UC-Berkeley, CEIBS and Fudan University. Dr. Charm found the BI and Big Data Special Interest Group (BISIG) for the Hong Kong Computer Society in 2008 - 1st of its kind in the Greater China region. BISIG members include BI and Big Data practitioners, business executives and IT leaders from leading enterprises, consulting firms, governments and vendors in the region. Dr. Charm is the author of two books to be published in 2014 - "Strategic Success of BI and Big Data Journey in Greater China" and "Strategy - Make or Break Our Company and Career Lives".

Voted Bank Risk Manager of the Year 2011 by Asia Risk Magazine for leading Bank of China Hong Kong (BOCHK) Group in the successful FIRB accreditation with HKMA, the first ever IRB accreditation for a China-based bank in the world. Edwin was also the Chairman of the Basel Implementation Committee of the Hong Kong Bankers Association in 2011. Before his retirement in Jan, 2014, Edwin headed the Basel Implementation Office in BOCHK Group and was responsible for the development and implementation of the overall Basel Program for retail banking, corporate banking, and RWA calculation engine for the BOCHK Group consisting of four banks and BOC Credit Card International. He joined BOCHK in May 2007 and completed the IRB development in a short span of 18 months, and after complying with the regulatory requirement for a two-year model use test, secured the HKMA accreditation on January 1, 2011. He further led the Bank Group in the AIRB development and implementation during 2011 for the corporate, FI and sovereign portfolios.Expand
Prior to his current position, Edwin was appointed by the UK FSA as senior examiner for Basel accreditation. He was the Head of Risk Analytics for Standard Chartered Bank based in Singapore, responsible for the successful global implementation in Asia, Europe, Middle East and North America for its Basel II Program with the UK FSA for the wholesale banking division. He held various senior positions in Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) in Toronto, Canada and United Overseas Bank in Singapore.

In 2009, Mr. Pales joined CLP Power Hong Kong Limited and for the first few years was responsible for setting its technology and cyber security direction before moving to head the Smart Grid Program Organization in early 2012. Wayne is now tasked with identifying Smart Grid solutions that will bring value to CLP Power's customers in Hong Kong and is specifically focused on technologies such as Smart Meters. In 2013, Wayne led the team to launch a program featuring the first Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system in South East Asia that works from the billing system all way through to the smart meters in the field and out to the customers via mobile applications.

James worked for NatWest Bank in the UK for 11 years where he held a variety of positions in
Retail and Corporate banking. As well as business focused roles in Branch Banking, Risk and
Relationship Management, he moved into analytical functions within Corporate Banking, and finally
into the Corporate Banking Data Warehousing team, where he played a key role in the
development of a new Data Warehouse, and led the team delivering user support and data
warehouse application development. On joining Teradata in 1999 James worked initially as a
Finance Industry Consultant in Teradata's UK team, and then moved to the EMEA team in 2005.
During his time at Teradata James has engaged with a range of banks across EMEA, both on a
pre-sales and project implementation basis, focusing particularly on the Finance, Customer Value
and Risk Management (including Basel II & III) subject areas.
James has an unusually broad range of skills covering both business and IT, including finance,
profitability analytics, performance management, risk management, Basel II/III, consultancy, sales,
project management, business analysis , BI design & development, application design and
development, data modelling, and SQL.
Primarily Financial Services Industry focus, however James also supports Teradata's other industry teams, particularly in the area of Customer Value analytics.
