Mr. Driek Desmet

McKinsey & Co


Driek Desmet is Managing Partner of the Business Technology Office of Asia for McKinsey & Company based in Singapore, and previously worked at the company’s offices in London and Amsterdam. Currently Driek leads the Business Technology Office in Asia, focusing on how IT transforms industries and how leading players are digitising their business model to move structurally ahead of competition.

Prior to joining McKinsey & Company, he worked in the Brand Management Division of Procter & Gamble in Brussels.

He holds an MBA from Dartmouth College, and an MSc from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.

Alistair has over 20 years experience of the design and delivery of major organisational development and change programmes across organisations and within IS/IT.

Prior to joining CIO Connect, Alistair was Director for Executive Development at Durham University Business School leading the design and delivery of major change though leadership development programmes for senior managers in such clients as HBOS plc, amec, Barclays IT Organisation, United Utilities and the UK's Department for Education and Skills.

Alistair was with PA Consulting Group for 12 years. He designed and guided over the long term, the implementation of a number of major programmes focused on organisational, systems and cultural change for clients in finance, government and manufacturing sectors. He started his career with ICI, holding a number of project and engineering management positions.

He is a regular contributor to CIO and general business conferences around the world leading sessions on such issues as CIO leadership, developing the IS organisation of the future, organisational development and change, developing cross-cultural teamwork and talent management.

His core area of expertise is into developing effective security and risk management strategies, driving global security programs in a wide range of security technologies. Khadir has also successfully established SOX and PCI DSS compliance programs along with rich experience managing ISO17799 / 27002 & COBIT security frameworks. Currently Khadir is employed with Carlson Wagonlit Travel as a director for information security Asia Pacific. Khadir is also a renowned speaker participating actively in reputed conferences and events in the region.




Mr. Lim Lip Siong

Lim Lip Siong of CB Richard Ellis oversees the relationships of business lines and IT, promotes and advocates the usage and deployment of strategic systems. He has been working on various global application deployments and regional application implementations.

Mr. Lim is working on various back-office, shared services rollouts, providing local and regional advice and support. He has managed the deployment to support the outsourcing business in the Asia and Pacific regions. He works closely with client accounting, facility management, finance teams and others to ensure the success of transitions and deployments across 8 countries for various clients.

In addition, he works with the corporate business lines especially finance. His recent projects include implementing a payroll system and accounts receivable reporting system in Singapore.

Prior to joining CB Richard Ellis in 2008, he served as a Manager with Accenture.


Mr. Ratikant Sahu

Ratikant is a Director in technology at Citigroup. He is currently responsible for Online banking platform across 30+ countries within Citigroup International. In his current role, he oversees conceptualization, development and deployment of various consumer facing online banking solutions.

Prior to that he led the delivery of an industry standard Business Intelligence platform for consumer bank spanning areas such as Sales & Marketing; Performance management, RISK and Compliance management. In his 15+ years of experience in banking industry, he been instrumental in several transformational efforts within Citi which was founded upon implementation of next generation multi-channel CRM / sales and service platforms, BI platforms, product processors.

Innovative application of technology continues to be a critical enabler for Citi to achieve its customer centricity goals and Ratikant has been driving some of those initiatives over last 10 years.

Ratikant is a graduate of Electrical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology and holds an MBA from Indian Institute of Management.


Mr. Graeme Greenaway

Graeme Greenaway: Based in Singapore, joined Deutsche Bank in 2010 as COO for Capital Markets Technology (APAC) and Global Banking Technology (Global). In 2011 he took on the role of overall COO for Global Technology in APAC.

Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Graeme was at Standard Chartered Bank for almost 10 years where he held several senior management positions within the Wholesale Banking Business, including Global COO for Transaction Banking.

Graeme has extensive experience directing change programmes of all sizes and complexity; from business integrations and large scale business change programmes to small system implementations.

Before joining Standard Chartered, Graeme was the Head of Brokerage Technology at Charles Schwab in Australia.



Mr. KC Chong
Director, Asia Pacific IT

KC Chong is currently based at Singapore and responsible for the Honeywell IT infrastructure operations covering the Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa and Middle East Regions for its 60000 end users across the 50+ countries. For this role, KC leads a team of Honeywell staffs and partners in various countries delivering key IT infrastructure services. These services include the planning, implementation and operations covering Connectivity, Telecommunication, Mobility, Data Center & Application Hosting, Messaging, Service Desk, File & Print, Onsite Dispatch, and Security & Compliance. The key focus has been enabling business growth and driving customer satisfaction by adopting the relevant new technology and driving various productivity initiatives with an annual budget in excess of $100M.

In addition, KC is also the leader for the Global ITSM operations which manage the global Service Desk and respective service operations such as Change, Problem, Configuration, Knowledge management utilizing the ITIL framework.

KC joins Honeywell in 2003 as its AsiaPac IT Infrastructure Director and has also held the position of Global Architecture from 2007-2009; he also co-lead the effort to start a captive IT Infrastructure global support team in India which has grown in excess of 70 personnel supporting all regions, its success has spawn another center at Brno, Czech Repulic.

Prior to joining Honeywell, KC spent 11 years with Motorola growing its Asia IT operations. He also spent 4 years with the Republic of Singapore Navy as a Technical Officer and now holds a Major rank in its reserve unit. KC is married with 2 daughters. His hobby includes jogging, photography and travel.

Based in Singapore, Mr. Baskaran is leading a global team in delivering projects and operational support through Managed Services for global manufacturing foot prints of Automotive Experience division of Johnson Controls, a leading tier 1 supplier in the Automotive Industry.

As part of his role Baskaran is responsible for Services strategy, Services Design, delivery and Continuous services improvement. Additionally he heads up the financial management and capacity management for his competency centre. He had successfully implemented the Managed Services model for MFG & SCM applications globally and works closely with vendors as part of vendor management process.

Baskaran has Masters in Business administration and has a work experience of over 20 years covering areas such as IT operations, Quality Assurance, IT projects, Financial and Capacity management in Manufacturing and SCM domain.

Prior to joining Johnson Controls, Baskaran worked in various MNC’s in verticals such as Oil and Gas, Electronics Automotive and pharmaceutical.

Having worked for such Blue Chip organizations such as American Express, IBM, Deutsche Telkom and now heading up IT Infrastructure for Jones Lang LaSalle across AP, Richard prides himself with the ability of understanding the value that IT brings to the business and its capability in supporting business growth and to the importance for IT to be constantly innovating.

Having worked both operationally and strategically – he has successfully implemented a no. of game changing applications for both his employers and clients and is today looking at how to successfully integrate the “next generation” of technology into the business to enable business growth.

Prior to joining K&S, Clay was the CIO and Corporate Vice President of Shared Services of Lattice Semiconductor. He has held numerous senior positions at Paradigm Geophysical, AMD, AIT (now Unisem), Chartered Semiconductor (now GLOBALFOUNDRIES), Motorola and IBM.

Clay has also served several years in the US Air Force earlier in his career.

Mr. Martin Yates

Martin is appointed Chairman of Singapore Computer Society for leading the Cloud Computing and Virtualisation special interest industry group, through this position he is contributing towards the planning and development of Singapore’s vision as global leader on cloud technology, services and capability. Martin is also an appointed government council member of the National Infocomm Competency Framework (NICF) on cloud computing jointly supported by the Workforce Development Agency and Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore. Martin serves on the government IDA IT standards committee’s for national security development on cloud computing.

Martin is currently Head of Technology, Design and Governance at DP DHL Capability Management. He supports DP DHL global vision and strategy towards common technology foundations and services supporting high value outcomes for its business partners. His specific focus areas of innovation include a comprehensive DPDHL cloud computing framework and ITS consultative best practices services for partners.



Mr. Mikil Tamakuwala

Mikil is currently leading advisory services within FLOD (First Line of Defence) in RBS for its information technology infrastructure. He has established a centre-of-excellence team in Singapore to serve the RBS Group globally and is responsible for all aspects of external-facing technology risks. He also reviews and recommends standards and guidelines for the adoption of new technology products and solutions (such as BYOD, Wi-Fi Internet, Cloud and Mobile computing).

Mikil has 15 years of experience in various roles within information technology in different industries. He came to information security from a development and networking background.



Mr. Krishnan Narayanan

Krishnan Narayanan is the Head of IT, Singapore and also regional head of WM APAC hubs IT. Krish has over 20 years of experience in the Financial IT industry, 10 of which has been in Japan where he has worked for Citibank and UBS. More recently he spent 3 years helping Prudential setup a regional IT and operations centre in Malaysia to serve the APAC region. Since rejoining UBS, Krish has covered roles in Equities production support, APAC emerging markets IT and IT outsourcing governance roles at both regional and global levels. Krish is an avid reader and enjoys solving crossword puzzles in his spare time.

In his current role, Chris is responsible for the business development of Antenna partners globally. Under his direction, Antenna is a trusted mobility partner of the world’s leading companies, such as AT&T.

Prior to Antenna, Chris held sales leadership roles as part of the executive team of the Cap Gemini Group, Vertek, and Vice President of US Sales for the Communications Division of Unisys Corporation.

Chris is a graduate of the University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL with a degree in Finance and resides in Chatham, New Jersey with his wife.


Mr. Sameer Puranik

Sameer has over 18 years of ICT experience and has been residing in Singapore for 10 years. His experience spans across Managed Services, Application development and management as well as Specialized consulting services.

Sameer has also lived in the USA and UK where he has helped build large businesses and worked in several leadership positions in large corporations including setting up of emerging business lines for Enterprise Hosting, Cloud based services and SaaS.

He is a distinguished speaker and coach in many forums in Asia and Singapore and is an active member for cloud advisories in the region.

Sameer currently in a Permanent Resident in Singapore with his spouse and 2 boys and enjoys coaching and mentoring aspiring youths for entrepreneurship and innovation.


Mr. Paul Chen

He also has the responsibility for Technical Pre-Sales and oversees Pre-Sales team development, processes and tools that accelerate sales revenues in the region.

Prior to Avaya, Chen was the Director of System Engineering for Motorola’s Enterprise Mobility Business in Asia Pacific. He has more than 20 years of regional experience in Sales, Technical Systems Engineering and Project Management.

Chen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Science from the National University of Singapore.

Prior to joining Cisco, Dinesh was the Vice President & GM of GN Netcom, managing the Jabra business in Asia Pacific. Before joining GN Netcom, Dinesh was the President of Avaya, China, responsible for all aspects of their business in positioning the company as one of the leading enterprise telephony and contact center provider. Prior to that, Dinesh was the Vice President, Application Sales for Avaya in the Asia Pacific region. During his tenure in Avaya, besides managing all the sales and marketing activities, Dinesh established Avaya as one of the leading Communications Applications provider.

He holds a Computer Engineering degree from University of Pune, and an EMBA from the State University of New York College at Buffalo.

He is currently based in Singapore.

Mr. Stu Bailey

Stuart defines the technological vision and direction for the company. Before founding Infoblox, Stuart was the technical lead for the National Center for Data Mining at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he led teams in developing advanced distributed data architectures. He has several publications, patents, and awards in the areas of appliance engineering, high performance computing, database systems, and distributed data mining.

Stuart is the co-author of the metadata access protocol standard IF-MAP 1.0/1.1/2.0, and co-chairman of the Trusted Computing Group's IF-MAP Subgroup. He holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois and is a Professional Member of the Association for Computing Machinery.




Dr. Charles Ling

Dr. Charles Ling is the Director of the Strategic Technology Management Institute (STMI) and a Practice Associate Professor. In his current portfolio, Dr. Ling is responsible for the development and management of the institute.

Prior to joining STMI, Dr. Ling held leadership positions at the Office of CIO and Services Management units of the Singapore Exchange, where he oversaw the IT planning, quality assurance, Technology Associate Program, IT operation and IT procurement functions. Dr. Ling also directed the adoption of IT service management best practices within the exchange. In his professional career, Dr. Ling also held various senior executive appointments, in the area of partner & channel management, IT service management, business process reengineering and IT solutions development in Sun Microsystems, Gintic (currently known as SIMTech) and Andersen Consulting (currently known as Accenture).

Dr. Ling has been active in professional associations and held appointments such as, Council Member in the SunTone Architectural Council, Chair of Intellectual Capital in the itSMF Singapore Chapter and EXCO member of in the Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation (SITF), ASP/IDC Chapter. An active speaker in conferences and seminars, Dr. Ling also published his research and industrial work in various international journals, magazines, newsletters and newspapers.

Dr. Ling graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (First Class Honours) and Ph.D in Computer Integrated Manufacturing from the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology (UMIST), United Kingdom. In his academic and research career, Dr. Ling has received various awards and scholarships from UMIST and government bodies of the United Kingdom.
