Mr. Glenn Maguire, Head of Asia Macro Research, Chief Economist Asia, Societe Generale

Glenn Maguire is Societe Generale's Asia Chief Economist based in Hong Kong. Having joined the bank in 1996, Glenn has principal carriage for regional economic and macro research and guides a team of quality economists and strategists to produce highly regarded thematic and regional research. Societe Generale's Global Economics Team that has been voted no.1 in Global Macro Research and Global Strategy for the past two consecutive years (2008 & 2009) and Glenn's research on Asia is highly regarded by clients internationally.

Glenn is a frequent commentator in the financial media and press, appearing extensively on Bloomberg, CNN, CNBC, and BBC. Glenn is an engaging and entertaining presenter and speaker and has headlined a number of conferences across the Asia-Pacific region in recent years. In 2010, Glenn commenced writing a weekly column "Market Wise" for China Daily - the mainland's largest English newspaper.

Glenn has over 20 years of applied economic forecasting experience in demanding public and private sector roles. Prior to joining Societe Generale, Glenn was an economic adviser to the Honorable Paul Keating, Prime Minister of Australia from 1993-1996. Prior to this, Glenn worked as a Fiscal Policy Adviser in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet in Canberra. Glenn has also worked with the Reserve Bank of Australia and Federal Treasury (the Joint Economic Forecasting Group) to formulate the Government's official forecasts for the Australian economy and provided policy advice to the Australian Prime Minister and Cabinet.


Dr. Samson Tam JP, The Legislative Council (Information Technology)

Dr. Samson Tam is a Legislative Councilor from the functional constituency of Information Technology and he is the founder of Group Sense (International) Ltd. He is now a member of Digital 21 Strategy Advisory Committee, the Small and Medium Enterprises Committee and Deputy Chairman of the Hong Kong Productivity Council. He is also the Chairman of the TechMatrix Research Centre, which is a local technology think tank.

Mr. Alistair Russell, Consultancy Services Director, CIO Connect

Alistair Russell is the Consultancy Services Director at CIO Connect and has over 20 years experience in working with CIOs in Europe and Asia. He is a regular speaker at CIO and business conferences. Alistair is a contributor to CIO Connect's recent publications that take unfiltered feedback from CIOs in our network to provide relevant insight into CIO priorities in 2010 and also the actions they need to take for success in the longer term.

Alistair was previously with PA Consulting Group for 12 years. where he designed and guided over the long term, the implementation of a number of major consulting projects focused on organisational, systems and cultural change for clients in finance, government and manufacturing sectors.

He started his career with ICI, holding a number of project and engineering management positions.

Alistair has an Engineering Degree and professional qualifications as a Member of the Institute of Management Consultants and as a Chartered Mechanical Engineer. He has held non-executive Director positions with the an independent management consultancy practice and the UK's Association of Management Education and Development (AMED).

Mr. Bill Chang, EVP, Business Group, SingTel

Bill Chang joined SingTel in November 2005 as Executive Vice President of Business Group. The Business Group serves SingTel's domestic and global corporate customers with a full range of Info-Communication Technology (ICT) services.

Bill has more than 18 years management experience in leading ICT companies and is actively involved in industry Committees, task forces and advisory work.

Bill is currently a Board member of the Workforce Development Agency (WDA), Chairman of Grid Comms Pte Ltd, Deputy Chairman of the Singapore Polytechnic Board of Governors. He also sits on the Advisory Committee of Singapore Management University School of Information Systems and Nanyang Polytechnic School of Engineering.

Bill was a member of the ICT sub-committee which was part of the Government's Economic Review Committee (2003), SiTF Councillor (2002/2004), Chairman of SiTF-AAC Internet Data Centre Committee (2001), and executive committee member for Think Tank (1999/2000). Bill received the National Day Public Service Medal Award for his contributions to the Singapore's workforce development in 2007.

Before joining SingTel, Bill was the Managing Director of CISCO Systems' Advanced Services Group in Asia Pacific. He was responsible for the company's operations in 13 regional countries.

Bill graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree in Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering from Monash University in 1990. He is married and has two children.


Mr. Emil Chan, First Vice President, Head of IT - Asia Pacific, BayernLB

With over 20 years' experience on IT and back-office operations of foreign banks in Hong Kong, Emil is currently the First Vice President of BayernLB leading the IT teams of the bank in Asia. He graduated from the Hong Kong Open University with a Bachelor of Applied Computer Science and from the University of Northern Iowa with a Master of Business Administration. He is a Certified Master Practitioner on Neuro Linguistic Programming and also a member of the ISACA with a certificate of CISA. Emil is the Chairman of the Hong Kong IBM User Group, a non-profit-making organization for the IBM users in Hong Kong to do networking and idea exchanges and the Co-chairman of the Offline Club of iProA to create opportunities for the members to get closer together and exchange views in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.


Mr. Pack Ling, CIO, Greater China, GE China

Pack Ling has assumed the Chief Information Officer of General Electric (GE) China since Jul 2006. He directs the IT strategies of the company and leads the IT function of over 200 professionals and 800 outsource engineers in Greater China region.

Pack joined GE in July 1996 as a management trainee of Information Management Leadership Program (IMLP). He led 5 office relocation projects and established the Asia-wide shared email server during his trainee time. Upon his graduation from program, Pack accepted the role as Asia IT Project Leader in GE Capital where he got an achievement award for his contribution to a few business acquisition projects in Asia.

In Jan 2000, he was promoted to lead dual regional roles - Asia IMLP Program Manager and Asia End-User Computing (EUC) Leader. In 2 years time, he grew the trainee program from 40 to over 100 members while he outsourced the whole Asia EUC operation to external vendors. In 2002, he was named as the Asia Pole Leader of Corporate Information Service Department, leading an operation to provide IT shared services for over 50,000 employees in Asia. He had implemented multiple IT solutions in the region including Oracle Financial, electronic travel claim and electronic leave systems. He had also outsourced the regional Payroll platform and established IT Security Council for Asia in this role.

Pack received a B.Sc. in Computer Science from University of Hong Kong in 1996, M.A. in Chinese Politics from Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2005.


Ms. Patricia Wong, CIO, Baker & McKenzie

Patricia is the Chief Information Officer of Baker & McKenzie in Hong Kong, China and Vietnam offices since 2001. She oversee all aspects of IT/Communication Infrastructure and Systems for these seven offices. Patricia has over 20 years experience in IT, and has been involved in the development and implementation of many regional and global IT projects for Baker & McKenzie.


Mr. Steven Yau, Vice President & CIO, Wal-Mart China

Steven Yau is currently the VP & CIO of Walmart China, with overall responsibilities for all systems strategy, implementation and support. He has been with Walmart for over 5 years, and was with Walmart Global Procurement before his transferred to Walmart China in February, 2008.

Before joining Walmart, Steven was working for multinationals such as Gap, Nike and UD&V in Asia. Prior to that, he had spent 8 years working in Europe before returning to Asia.

His background is in Supply Chain, Process Re-Engineering and Change Management, where he has led major initiatives for fortune 100 companies prior to joining Walmart in beginning of 2005.


Mr. Sunny Chan, Regional IT Director, Asia Pacific, LVMH Asia Pacific Limited

Sunny Chan is the Regional IT Director - Asia Pacific of LVMH Asia Pacific Limited. He is responsible for leading the Group's IT organization in Asia Pacific, managing the Group's common IT infrastructure and defining the Group's IT strategy for Asia Pacific. Sunny has 20 years experience in IT and Communication industry. He had worked for several local/international vendors and enterprises, including HP Consulting, Wharf T&T and Ericsson. In his current and previous jobs, Sunny had worked on different roles including consulting for enterprise customers and in-house IT management. He had also led many major IT projects in different areas, for example, VOIP projects, corporate network implementation projects and e-application development projects.

Sunny graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor Degree in Electronics Engineering. After graduation, Sunny started his career in Canada as a software engineer and then continued his work in Hong Kong. Then he has held several positions in different international vendors and enterprises in HK, including Regional IT Manager, Consulting Team Manager and Solution Team Manager. Sunny also has a MBA Degree from the University of Strathclyde.

Sunny is the member of several professional associations. He is a Professional Engineer of Canada, a Chartered Engineer of IET UK, and a full member of Hong Kong Computer Society.

Mr. Roy Wakim, Business Development Director - UC, Avaya APAC

Roy Wakim is the Business Development Director for Unified Communications at Avaya APAC. In this role, he is responsible for the overall growth and profitability of Unified Communications Platform. Roy Wakim has over 17 years of extensive breadth of industry experience, having worked in the hardware, software and carrier markets. In particular, he has an intimate understanding of the unified communications marketplace and the issues impacting businesses today and tomorrow.

Prior to this position, Roy was the Director, Convergence Solutions and Analyst Relations for the Asia Pacific region. In the Converged Solutions capacity, Roy assisted in building strategic alliances with Avaya customers by understanding their business needs and recommending cost-effective technology solutions that will compliment their organizational objectives.

As a technology evangelist, Roy is a prominent figure in this region, speaking at industry conferences on the impact of IP Telephony on the business landscape. Roy has held various management roles at Davnet Telecommunications, Sabre pacific and Optima Computer Technology.

Roy has a Masters degree in Technology Management from the University of Western Sydney and is based in Singapore.


Mr. Jonathan Andresen, Director of Product Marketing - Asia Pacific, Blue Coat Systems

Jonathan Andresen is Director of Product Marketing at Blue Coat Systems, Asia-Pacific. Mr. Andresen has been working in the telecommunications sector since 1996 and relocated to Asia in 2003. Prior to joining Blue Coat Systems, Mr. Andresen held various marketing, strategy and business development management positions in Nortel's Wireless and Optical Business Units. Mr. Andresen's career includes positions with Teleglobe, MetroPhotonics and Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. Mr. Andresen holds a Master's Degree of International Management from Carleton University in Canada. Located in Bangkok, Mr. Andresen also serves as the Vice-President of the Thai-Canadian Chamber of Commerce.


Mr. Zach Tan, Enterprise Architect, Google Enterprise, Asia Pacific

Zach joined Google in early 2008 and is the Enterprise Architect for Google Enterprise, Asia Pacific. He is responsible for helping customers design and build solutions with Google Enterprise products. As a technology evangelist, Zach also helps to accelerate the adoption of cloud computing solutions among customers and partners across Asia Pacific. Previously, Zach held various positions in pre-sales and consulting roles with Symantec, Veritas and IBM and brings with him more than 10 years of experience in the design and implementation of complex enterprise and e-business systems. Zach has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Singapore and is based in Singapore.


Mr. Peter Elsey, Director, Service Provider Alliances, Asia Pacific, Riverbed Technology

Peter joined Riverbed in 2007 after more than 20 years with BT. Initially a consultant in BT's external systems integration business, Peter moved to Asia in 1991 to manage BT's regional sales into the travel and transport sector. Subsequently, Peter worked in several roles in the region. In 2002 he set up and ran BT's CRM practice. His last role at BT was as Regional Sales Manager for IT Services, where he became familiar with the emerging field of WAN Optimisation and with Riverbed. Shortly afterwards Peter joined Riverbed to set up and manage their regional channel partnerships with Service Providers and Telecommunication companies.

Peter is a Member of the IEEE (US) and a Chartered IT Practitioner thru the BCS (UK).
