Peter High
President
Metis Strategy
Peter founded Metis Strategy in 2001. He is an expert in business and information technology strategy, and he has been a trusted advisor to wide array of business and tech executives of Fortune 500 companies in various industries. Peter has developed several strategic methodologies that he and his firm have taught clients to use on their own in order to develop and update strategic plans, choose and manage the right portfolio of projects, and to ensure that team performance is on the path to world class levels.

In December of 2009, Wiley Press/Jossey-Bass published Peter's book World Class IT: Why Businesses Succeed When IT Triumphs, which was named the third best IT book of 2009 by CIO Insight, and the number one book to read to "be smarter than your boss," according to Baseline Magazine, among other accolades.

In 2008, Peter started a widely listened to podcast entitled "The Forum on World Class IT," which is available through iTunes on a biweekly basis. He is a columnist with CIO Insight, and he has written for Information Week and CIO Digest.

Peter has been the keynote speaker at a wide array of corporate conferences around the world, and he has lectured at several universities including Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, the University of Washington (Seattle) Foster School of Business, the University of Maryland's Smith School of Business, and the National Defense University.

Prior to founding Metis Strategy, Peter worked in the strategy division of Luminant Worldwide, a full service consulting firm, as a member of the management team. He began his career in consulting with Integral, Inc., an innovation management firm founded by the former dean of Harvard Business School, Kim Clark. Prior to Integral, Peter worked as an internal consultant with General Motors and as a research analyst with the Federal Reserve Bank.

Peter graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with degrees in economics and history.

Bill Chang

Bill Chang joined SingTel in November 2005 as Executive Vice President of Business Group. The Business Group serves SingTel's domestic and global corporate customers with a full range of Info-Communication Technology (ICT) services.

Bill has more than 18 years management experience in leading ICT companies and is actively involved in industry Committees, task forces and advisory work.

Bill is currently a Board member of the Workforce Development Agency (WDA), Chairman of Grid Comms Pte Ltd, Deputy Chairman of the Singapore Polytechnic Board of Governors. He also sits on the Advisory Committee of Singapore Management University School of Information Systems and Nanyang Polytechnic School of Engineering.

Bill was a member of the ICT sub-committee which was part of the Government's Economic Review Committee (2003), SiTF Councillor (2002/2004), Chairman of SiTF-AAC Internet Data Centre Committee (2001), and executive committee member for Think Tank (1999/2000). Bill received the National Day Public Service Medal Award for his contributions to the Singapore's workforce development in 2007.

Before joining SingTel, Bill was the Managing Director of CISCO Systems' Advanced Services Group in Asia Pacific. He was responsible for the company's operations in 13 regional countries.

Bill graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree in Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering from Monash University in 1990. He is married and has two children.

Steven Leonard

Steve Leonard is President, EMC Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ). With 2009 revenues of $14 billion and approximately 43,000 employees, EMC is the world's leading developer and provider of information infrastructure technology and solutions that enable organizations of all sizes to transform the way they compete and create value from their information.

Steve is responsible for driving EMC's growth and leadership in APJ, enhancing partner and channel relationships, and furthering innovation and product development throughout the region. EMC, with the help of its partners, generated $1.6 billion in revenue from Asia Pacific & Japan operations in 2008 and now employs more than 5,000 information management and storage professionals in the region to help customers to efficiently store, protect, and manage their information so that it can be made accessible, searchable, shareable, and, ultimately, actionable.

Steve has more than 20 years of industry and international experience in information management software and global sales and service. Prior to joining EMC in April 2006, Steve managed the Asia Pacific Japan operations for Symantec and Veritas. Before that executive management position, Steve spent 18 years with EDS, where he focused on European and Asian operations for 12 of those years, ultimately rising to the position of President of Solutions Consulting for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Steve holds a business degree from Southern Methodist University.

Steve is a frequent contributor on CNBC and Bloomberg on a range of business topics. He lives in Singapore with his wife and three children. Steve is actively involved in CSR projects across Asia, including those that support the Tabitha Foundation in Cambodia and the Hope School in Bangalore, India.

Geoff McClelland

Geoff has over 25 years' experience in Information Technology and Telecommunications (IT&T), having held senior roles or consulting extensively in a number of industry sectors; notably in Telecommunications, Petroleum, IT, Finance, Defence, Retail and Hospitality. Always having a strong technology focus, Geoff has held traditional IT&T staff roles as well as broader R&D, strategic marketing and corporate planning positions.

From 2000, Geoff was the Group Enterprise Architect for Dairy Farm International; then the VP Technology - Hotel Development for Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group; more recently, he continues to provide IT governance services to Jardine Matheson Limited.

Professionally Geoff's very strong background in Enterprise Architecture led naturally to IT strategy, governance and risk management. His successful transition into broader management roles outside of IT as a Business-Technology professional has heightened his understanding of the challenges faced by organisations in achieving convergence, not just alignment, of IT with the business.

Geoff is an Australian, married with two children and lives in Hong Kong. He holds a MBA in Finance from the University of Technology Sydney and is a Member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers), the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).

Mark Ross

Mr. Mark Edward Ross has over 20 years of senior-level technology management and Board level experience with multi-national financial service companies. Mr. Ross also serves on the Board and as a senior level advisor for several start-up companies.

He started his financial services career at a top investment bank (Credit Suisse), where he was responsible for infrastructure and global application deployment for the company's fixed income and equities trading desks. He went on to become the Regional Chief Information Officer and Chief Architect overseeing European and Asian operations for several dominant and global financial service players (e.g. AIG, Thomson-Reuters).

Mr. Ross is a recognized technology innovator. He was most recently awarded the 2009 IDC innovation award for his work using software-as-a-service solutions. Publications of his work have appeared in numerous journals and periodicals and have also been the basis for a Computer World case study.

Specialties of Mr. Ross include strategic technology planning and the integration of core financial service systems including: insurance, asset management, pensions, trust, fixed income and equities systems.

Mr. Ross completed an engineering and economics degree from Carnegie-Mellon University. He also holds a Masters degree in Finance and International Business from New York University's Stern School of Management and from Hautes Etudes Commerciales - a top European business university based in Paris, France.

Vincent Chan

Vincent is the Partner in charge of Ernst & Young's Advisory Services in Hong Kong and China South. He also leads a team of professionals in the delivery of IT & business risk management, project management, process improvement, and information security advisory services to a variety of clients.

Vincent has over seventeen years' experience in the IT, audit, controls and security industry. In the late 1990's, he was an early adopter and advocate of a number of international leading practices, such as WebTrust assurance services, and implementing ISO27001 security management standard for various local and multinational organizations in the early stage of the rollout of these international standards. In recent years, Vincent's focus has been on assisting companies establish Enterprise IT Governance.

Vincent is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA Australia), Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Practicing Accountant (HKICPA), a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), as well as Certified in Governance of Enterprise Information Technology (CGEIT). Vincent was the President of ISACA (China Hong Kong Chapter) for five years in a row until end of 2009, and he is also involved in a number of industry roles including - Vice-President of the Hong Kong IT Joint Council (HKITJC), member of CityU's Information Systems Department Advisory Committee (ISDAC), and Convener of the Hong Kong Institute of CPA's IT Interests Group.

Jerry Wertelecky is a Partner in IT Risk Advisory Services group (ITRA) of Ernst & Young. He has led major Advisory projects and Assurance audits for some of the world's largest financial services companies. He has specialised in technology risk area for financial services for over 26 years. In September 2007 he transferred to the Financial Services practice in Hong Kong.

In addition to his Assurance experience, Jerry has provided Advisory services on a range of projects including:

Before moving to Hong Kong his previous assignment in Asia has been for Etiqa Insurance & Takaful (a joint venture between Ageas and Maybank) in Malaysia where he has setup a Business Analyst department to support a large IT transformation plan.

Prior to joining Ageas Henk has worked for IG&H Consulting & Interim, a specialized consultancy firm in The Netherlands, where he had a special focus on implementing Front End and Straight Through Processing solutions for Insurance companies. Henk has been active in the Insurance industry for almost 20 years with an ongoing focus on business/ICT alignment.

Geof is a partner in Mayer Brown's Business & Technology Sourcing (BTS) practice and leads the BTS practice in Asia. He has broad experience in sourcing transactions, including the outsourcing and offshoring of information technology and services as well as of business processes. His experience in the area of information technology procurement and outsourcing transactions includes transactions involving infrastructure, applications maintenance, development and support, network management, telecommunications services, and help desk functions, as well as implementation and integration of major enterprise applications and systems. Thomas Dillon

In his current capacity of the Vice President for IT-Asia, for the Las Vegas Sands Corp, over the past 5 years he oversaw the openings of the Venetian Macau, Plaza Casino (next to the Four Seasons Macau) and the Marina Bay Sands located in Singapore. He is currently working with the IT team, Venetian Operations and Hotel Partners (Sheraton/Shangri-La) to open a 6,000 room Resort in Macau. In addition he is responsible for existing properties located in the region (which includes the Venetian Macau, Sands Macau and Plaza Casino located at the Four Seasons). He manages a team of IT Professionals that are responsible for selection, integration and installation of Data/Voice Networks, security as well as a countless applications for Casino, Hotel and Back of House that comprise what has best been described as a "City within a City" for these mega resorts. Par Botes is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the Asia Pacific & Japan region for EMC Corporation, where he is involved in the evolution and advancement of EMC's information infrastructure platforms, software and services, including storage, backup and recovery, archiving, virtualized data centers and private clouds. Reporting directly to Steven Leonard, President EMC Asia Pacific & Japan and Jeff Nick, EMC's Chief Technology Officer, Par is responsible for technical strategy in Asia Pacific and Japan for EMC's entire product portfolio including Storage, Backup/Recovery/Archiving and Security. Par is based in Singapore.

Prior to joining EMC, Par was the Director Technology Strategy, Data Center Management Group at Symantec and VERITAS, where he also held a number of management roles in the areas of data protection and storage management. Prior to Symantec, Par spent eight years with Sun Microsystems, working with Sun's Global 500 customers and partners, establishing practices for commercial benchmarking and system models for next generation system architectures. Prior to joining SUN Microsystems, Par established himself in the area of SMP kernels, compilers and Enterprise Storage Systems with Data General, which has since been acquired by EMC. Par has a degree in Telecommunications from his native home of Stockholm, Sweden.

Prior to joining Polycom, Chris spent 4 years in India and Korea in various business development roles in Cisco Systems Asia Pacific, ranging from managing Cisco's global accounts of over $35 billion in revenue, to tripling services business across the region.

Chris expertise in IT is a culmination of 15 years experience in International Business and high-technology across Asia Pacific and North America.

Wong Loke Yeow

In his role, Mr Wong is responsible for evangelizing ArcSight's trail-blazing approaches and cutting-edge technology; and drive market awareness and adoption of ArcSight's industry leading solutions and effective strategies that help to turn today's complex business and network data into actionable security foresight.

From 2003 to 2010, Mr Wong Loke Yeow has also served as an executive committee representative of the Singapore InfoComm Technology Federation (SiTF), of which he served the last 3 years as an SiTF Council Member, as well as Chairman of the Security and Governance Chapter at the SiTF.

Into his 18th year focusing on infocomm security, Mr Wong started his IT career in the public sector with the Singapore National Computer Board (NCB), and subsequently moved into the private sector where he held director and senior level positions at Deutsche Bank AG (Asia Pacific), TruSecure Corporation, Cybertrust Inc, and Oracle Corporation before joining ArcSight.

Charleston Sin

Mr. Charleston Sin was appointed as General Manager of CISCO Greater China for Data Center and Borderless Networks in January 2010. He is responsible for go-to-market strategy for two next-generation architectures - Borderless Networks and Data Center Virtualization. Before that, he was General Manager of CISCO South China, and General Manager of Hong Kong and Macau.

Mr. Sin started his CISCO career in 1998 in Cisco headquarters in San Jose US, where he was one of the founding members of the Mobile Wireless Group. He relocated to Asia in 2000, with responsibility for business development and product marketing for Mobile Wireless solutions in Asia Pacific.

Prior to Cisco, he was at the Nortel Networks and at Bell-Northern Research in Canada, where he was a senior member of the scientific staff for wireless and network management systems.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Mr. Sin spent 18 years in North America. He received his PhD in Technology Management from the University of Waterloo in Canada.

Chris Larsen

Mr. Larsen has more than 20 years of experience in writing code and natural language processing. At Blue Coat, he is the malware research team leader, specializing in Internet malware vectors. Before this, he was the lead engineer and linguist developing Blue Coat's real-time ratings software, and continues to develop Asian language modules for Blue Coat's WebPulse system. Prior to joining Blue Coat, he co-founded and was VP of Technology at LinguaTech International. Mr. Larsen holds a BS degree in Computer Science and a Masters degree in Linguistics.

Felix Ng

Felix Ng is EMC's Sales Regional Program Manager (Virtual Computing Environment) for the Asia Pacific and Japan region for EMC Corporation, where he is responsible for driving Variable Consumption or Ondemand Business Models in Asia Pacific and Japan for the Virtual Computing Environment (VCE) Coalition formed by EMC, Cisco and VMware. The coalition has been created to accelerate customers' ability to increase business agility through greater IT infrastructure flexibility, and lower IT, energy and real estate costs through pervasive data center virtualization and a transition to private cloud infrastructures.

Reporting to Par Botes, EMC Chief Technology Officer for Asia Pacific and Japan, Felix is a 12-years EMC veteran. Felix has held a wide range of EMC roles, including Sales Director (EMC Software Group) for Hong Kong, where he managed the Backup and Information Protection Software business; Sales Regional Program Manager (Backup, Recovery and Archive Division) for the Asia Pacific and Japan, where he led the significant growth of the Backup Software Enterprise License Agreement (ELA) business across Asia Pacific and Japan.

Peter Elsey

Peter started his working life as a software developer in the late 1970's. In the mid 1980's he had joined the external software development business of BT, which specialized in IT for the Airline and Logistics industries. He moved into IT Strategic Consulting and worked on extended engagements for several airlines, most notably for Lufthansa in Frankfurt.

In 1991 Peter relocated to Singapore to run BT's line of business for Travel & Transport and subsequently BT's CRM practice. In 2005-7 he was BT Head of IT Sales (Asia Pacific), which is where Peter first became aware of Riverbed.

Peter joined Riverbed in August 2007 to create and lead its Service Provider channel in Asia. SingTel has subsequently become a leading partner as Asian Customers have increasingly chosen to adopt Riverbed WAN Optimisation via a Managed Service thru a Service Provider.

Since Peter moved to Asia almost 20 years ago, he has always worked in regional roles, and has been able to develop a solid understanding of the opportunities and challenges faced by multi-national and small-to-medium sized enterprises as they tackle globalization with its alternating periods of rapid change and growth, and occasional periods of economic challenge.
