Active in the digital forensics community, Nikkel is an editor for Elsevier's Digital Investigation Journal, has spoken at various security conferences, and has published a number of research papers in the field. A part time university lecturer, Nikkel developed and teaches the Linux/Unix Forensics module at Cranfield University in the UK. He has a PhD in network forensics and an MSc in enterprise network management. His industry credentials include EnCE and CISSP certification. He has been an IT/Network professional since 1990 and specialized in computer security since 1996.

Dr. John Meakin is BP's Director of Digital Security and Chief Information Security Officer. Prior to joining BP, Meakin was Standard Chartered Bank's Group Head of Information Security and is a specialist in information systems security with more than eighteen years experience. Meakin has an impressive track-record of establishing and managing information security functions in a range of financial services and other businesses. He has brought innovative approaches to the application of risk methods and risk automation to achieve the right balance of security in those businesses, delivering optimum cost-effectiveness. Meakin has a particular interest in better modeling and managing the costs and benefits of security to the business, as well as in shifting the emphasis of commercial security efforts into dynamic management and monitoring rather than static prevention. He is a board member of the Jericho Forum and is leading Standard Chartered's efforts to bring more flexible network security technologies to bear on the challenge of doing good business in "out of the way places."

Meakin has a PhD in Experimental Solid State Physics from Cambridge University, plays football regularly, builds computers in his spare time and speaks regularly at conferences and public forums on a variety of IT Security topics.

Meakin was previously responsible for leading systems security policy and strategy in Reuters, the Royal Bank of Scotland, Swiss Bank Corporation and the investment-banking arm of Dresdner Bank, where he led teams providing a full range of IT Security services.

Gerrit Bahlman is the Director of Information Technology at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Hong Kong. He took up his position in August 2009 after serving as the Chief Information Officer at Massey University in New Zealand. He has been involved in the strategic planning, development, management and design of teaching and learning, research, communications and administrative support systems and structures in Universities since 1986.

Gerrit holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Chemistry, a Masters Degree in Science from Canterbury University and a Diploma in Teaching from the Christchurch College of Education. He has taught and held senior management roles in Education; worked as a consultant in information technology and in international aid with the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has worked as a freelance writer and as a leader in the use of computers in education and administration. He has led significant change management projects in information and communication technologies including the establishment of new campuses; mergers of educational institutions and in the establishment of new systems and services in educational contexts.

He is currently a member of the JUCC in Hong Kong. He has been the Chair of the New Zealand Vice Chancellors Committee on IT; an Executive member of the Council of Australian University Directors of IT and completed an 8 year term as Director and Faculty member of the CAUDIT EDUCAUSE Institute. He was a founding member and Treasurer of the Next Generation Internet of NZ initiative to promote the establishment of an advanced research network in New Zealand and contributed to the advancement of e-Research infrastructure in New Zealand and Australia through projects such as BestGrid and RUBRIC.

I joined Aon Hong Kong in 2001 as their first CIO, and have witnessed the crucial change of IT taking on more a strategic role, rather than just an operational one. Increasingly so, CIOs are expected to become a business partner and an opportunity enabler. And the exciting expansion of Aon within Asia has truly demonstrated the importance of IT in facilitating business growth.

I graduated with a First Class Honors Degree in Computer Science from the University of Sydney. I also hold an MBA Degree majoring in Finance from the University of Technology, Sydney.

I spent the early years of my IT career in application development, specializing in Object Oriented design and development, mainly in banking, finance, and government sectors in Australia.

I then returned to Hong Kong to lead an OO development project for the New Chek Lap Kok Airport.

After the new Airport move has completed, I joined Sun Microsystems. It was also at this stage when my career changed direction to focus more on network architecture and infrastructure, which subsequently led me to other career ventures involving setting up and running commercial data centers. The experience in both application development and network infrastructure has provided me with the breadth and depth of IT knowledge and experience, which has proved very useful, given the variety of issues and challenges faced by CIOs.

Putting aside IT as my major personal hobby, I am also a member of the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force, and have a strong passion for various sports including skiing and motor cycling.

Prior to SafeNet, he took Technical Consultant role in several multi-national IT security vendors like Betrusted (now Cybertrust) and PrivyLink. Previously, He was one of the members of Center of Wireless Information Technology (CenWIT) in The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The major contribution of him was to develop a new algorithm in the cellular receiver to reduce the power consumption and complexity. That algorithm was filed in US patent in 1997. He developed a XML security gateway deployed in Macau. He participated in IT solution security review for Hong Kong Government and an investment bank in Singapore. He participated in a lot of critical IT security projects for banks/government in Asia pacific.
