Terick Chiu

As an Executive Partner for the Gartner Executive Programs, Terick works with CIOs across North Asia supporting Hong Kong, Taiwan and China, assisting CIOs in many first tier organisations in a wide range of strategic information technology decision matters. Terick is responsible for providing personal advisory to CIOs from IT strategy formation, positioning of IT organisation, technology selection to IT organisation transformation.

Prior to joining Gartner, Terick was the Asia Pacific Regional IT Director for MindShare and GroupM, the largest and leading advertising media group in Asia Pacific supporting 25 offices and 3000 users. Key achievements included leading the transformation of the IT operation to support rapid business growth and established best practice IT operation processes across the whole Asia Pacific region.

Previously, Terick also took on regional management roles in a number of companies including MRO Software in Asia and IBM Global Services in Australia providing IT advisory and services to many leading organizations in Asia Pacific.

Terick has a degree in Computer Science from University of Sydney and a post graduate degree with Australia Graduate School of Management.

Michael Mudd

Michael (Mike) Mudd is the Chief Representative in the Asia - Pacific region of the Open Computing Alliance (www.opencomputingalliance.org), an industry supported business group dedicated to advancing new computing business models, such as Cloud Computing. He is a member of the policy committee and Cloud Computing SIG of the Hong Kong Computer Society as well as the Asia Cloud Computing Association and is a founder member of the Cloud Security Alliance. He is also the Asia Pacific Ambassador for the Cloud Credential Council, which is dedicated to advancing industry created certifications for cloud professionals. He is the managing partner of Asia Policy Partners LLC (APP), a consulting firm for technology trade strategy and policy which he founded in 2009.

Mike is an appointed expert to JTC-1 of the ISO in Geneva working on several standards sub groups. He is also an active member of a number of regional business chambers and associations, including chairman of the IT, IPR and Telecom Committee, at Amcham Hanoi an honorary position he has held since 2007.

Prior to this he spent six years as Director of Public Policy, Asia - Pacific for a global IT business association, CompTIA, opening the A-P office in Hong Kong in late 2003. He has held a key commercial position with Riverbed Technology of California and was a Senior Manager with Standard Chartered Bank PLC, in the wholesale banks trade finance/supply chain and e-commerce group for Asia. Previously he was the founding COO of the e-commerce division of Noble Group a major physical commodities supplier.


Geoff McClelland

Geoff has over 25 years' experience in Information Technology and Telecommunications (IT&T), having held senior roles or consulting extensively in a number of industry sectors; notably in Telecommunications, Petroleum, IT, Finance, Defence, Retail and Hospitality. Always having a strong technology focus, Geoff has held traditional IT&T staff roles as well as broader R&D, strategic marketing and corporate planning positions.

From 2000, Geoff was the Group Enterprise Architect for Dairy Farm International (DFI); then the VP Technology - Hotel Development for Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group (MOHG) until mid-2010; he continues to provide IT governance services to DFI's and MOHG's parent company, Jardine Matheson Limited.

Professionally Geoff's very strong background in Enterprise Architecture led naturally to IT strategy, governance and risk management. His successful transition into broader management roles outside of IT as a Business-Technology professional has heightened his understanding of the challenges faced by organisations in achieving convergence, not just alignment, of IT with the business.

Geoff is a well-respected technology commentator in the Asia Pacific region especially in the areas of IT strategy, security and governance. Geoff is an Australian, married with two children and lives in Hong Kong. He holds a MBA in Finance from the University of Technology Sydney and is a Member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers), ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association), a Senior Member of the Australian Computer Society (ACS); and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).


Toa Charm

Dr. Charm is one of the few veterans in Business Intelligence and Analytics industry in Greater China. He held senior management, marketing and consulting positions in leading multinational Business Intelligence and Analytics companies. Dr. Charm was the former Regional Head, Business Intelligence Competency Centre, Asia Pacific, HSBC; the former Associate Partner, Greater China, IBM Global Business Services; and former General Manager, Business Intelligence, Greater China, Oracle Corporation. Apart from providing strategy and business analytics consulting and executive training to major clients and partners in Greater China, Dr. Charm provides advisory services to Big Data and BI start-ups in the region on strategic direction, management and funds sourcing.

Dr. Charm is a Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) of TDWI in the US. He also completed a Big Data Certification Program of MIT Sloan School of Management. The research area for Dr. Charm's doctoral thesis was Impact of Organizational Capability on BI and CRM Success. Dr. Charm possesses DBA, MBA and B.Sc. qualification. He has also completed a number of senior executive programs from Harvard, UC-Berkeley, CEIBS and Fudan University. Dr. Charm found the BI and Big Data Special Interest Group (BISIG) for the Hong Kong Computer Society in 2008 - 1st of its kind in the Greater China region. BISIG members include BI and Big Data practitioners, business executives and IT leaders from leading enterprises, consulting firms, governments and vendors in the region. Dr. Charm is the author of two books to be published in 2014 - "Strategic Success of BI and Big Data Journey in Greater China" and "Strategy - Make or Break Our Company and Career Lives".

Dr. Charm is an active speaker and moderator for international and local business and IT forums in Greater China. He has been the conference chair of the Annual Business Intelligence and Analytics Forum in Hong Kong since 2011 and was invited as a keynote speaker in the 2013 Annual Big Data Business Forum in San Francisco, US. Dr. Charm currently holds adjunct professorship in a number of leading universities in Greater China including University of Hong Kong, Fudan University in Shanghai and University of Macau. He was the former Honorary Advisor for the China-Trade Board of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

He was a sponsor and active leader in the Accenture FinTech Asia programme run in Hong Kong in 2014.

Varun Tandon is an Insurance Industry professional with more than 17 years of experience across Distribution, Operations and Technology. He was worked previously with AIG, Genpact and General Electric in geographies like India and the US. He setup an Insurance IT practice across India, US and UK for Genpact from scratch. Drove the setup of a shared services entity for AIG in India. Worked with GE's Insurance companies in the US on e-Business projects for which he was named as co-inventor on two registered patents.

In this current role, he heads Distribution Projects, Technology and MidOffice for AXA China Region Life Insurance Company. This includes driving Digital and Customer experience enhancement initiatives. Varun is passionate about driving business value through the adoption of new processes and technology.


Dominic Wai

Mr. Wai's practice focuses on anti-corruption, white collar crime, law enforcement and regulatory matters in Hong Kong, including advice on anti-money laundering. He also handles corporate litigation, shareholders' disputes and insolvency matters, defamation cases, cybersecurity issues, eDiscovery and forensic investigation issues as well as property litigation.

Mr. Wai graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechinic (now the Hong Kong Polytechnic University) with a Professional Diploma in Business (Banking) (1985), City Polytechnic of Hong Kong (now City University of Hong Kong) with a first class LL.B. (1994) and P.C.LL. (1995). He is admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong.

Prior to joining BlackRock in February 2011, Vineet managed direct channels and overall channel strategy for HSBC Commercial Banking Asia Pacific. He also worked with HSBC in the US, developing global commercial banking direct initiatives and in the UAE where he set up HSBC's Retail and Commercial direct banking business. Vineet started his career with Andersen Consulting and also worked with Ernst and Young in his early years.

Suk-Wah Kwok is the Asia Pacific Regional CIO of Lockton Companies. Lockton is the largest privately owned independent insurance brokerage firm in the world, and ranked number 9 overall. Worldwide, Lockon operates in over 60 offices in US, Europe, Latin America, Middle East, and Asia Pacific. Headquartered in Kansas City with a history of 46 years, Lockton has won many awards in the insurance industry, including "Broker of Choice" and, most notably, multiple and consecutive winning of "Best Places to Work in Insurance" in various cities around the world.

Prior to Lockton, Suk-Wah worked for Lockton's competitor Aon, which is the world's largest insurance brokerage firm. Suk-Wah was CIO of Aon Hong Kong for over 10 years, and was instrumental in leading Aon Hong Kong to be among the first few companies in Asia to successfully migrate key IT services to a public cloud.

Suk-Wah is an experienced IT professional well known for her versatility and insightful ideas on many IT areas. Her IT career spans over 20 years, with her early years specializing in application design and development, mainly in banking, finance, and government sectors in Australia.

She was then recruited from Australia to return to Hong Kong to lead a development project for the New Chek Lap Kok Airport. After the airport move completed, Suk-Wah joined Sun Microsystems as a Project Manager, and her career focus changed from application development to network architecture and infrastructure.

After Sun, Suk-Wah held various IT management positions such as Head of IT, Asia Pacific for Baring Asset Management, and Operations Director for commercial data centers, before taking up CIO roles in insurance broking firms.

Suk-Wah graduated with a First Class Honors in Computer Science from the University of Sydney. She also holds an MBA majoring in Finance from the University of Technology, Sydney.

Putting aside IT as her major personal hobby, she is also a Senior Inspector in the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force, and has a strong passion for various sports including skiing and motor cycling.

Prior to joining AirWatch, Hinson worked as a financial analyst for the German company Hansgrohe, where he headed projects to lower production costs and increase margins, performed inventory spot checks, created annual budgets, analyzed sales numbers, and ensured accurate reporting of company profits and costs.

He strives to IT and data center territory and got a strong experience in that. To be a senior IT solution expert, not only did he lead the first MicroDC product charter development, but also joined the development of the next generation of data center framework of Huawei - distributed cloud data center, the public cloud solution of Multi-Tenancy Data Center as well as the smart city data center solution.

He comes from Taiwan and holds a bachelor degree of international trade and finance from Taiwan Catholic Fu Jen University.

Jim has 15 years of diverse experience, including product management and financial management that he brings to Pacnet. He also served as Director of Financial Operations, and was instrumental in supporting the company’s IPO on the New York Stock Exchange.
