  Mr. Miguel Angel Ferrer

Volvo Construction Equipment (China) Company

Based in Shanghai, Mr Ferrer is not only leading the CIO Office for Volvo Construction Equipment in China, but he is in charge of the Program Management Office of the Integration Office for Lingong, one of the top manufacturers of heavy construction equipment in China.

Working with Lingong (SDLG) since 2006, Mr Ferrer has lead and supported important developments in the industrial structure, international distribution and product development for this very well known Chinese company, including managing the SDLG Excavator Project that delivered a series of mid-range SDLG excavators in record time for the industry, in worldwide terms.

Also in China, Mr Ferrer has been focused on supporting the improvement of the business processes of Lingong, which also has lead to the record implementation of SAP, targeting to secure world class industrial processes and systems for this very important Sino-Swedish Join Venture.

His experience on different industries (Oil, Telecommunications & Manufacturing), as well as in successful Mergers and Acquisitions, has made him a frequent guest speaker in events of technology industry leaders and analysts.

  Mr. Tony Chew
Director - Specialist Advisor
Monetary Authority of Singapore

On 1 May 2011, Tony was appointed into a newly created role as Director - Specialist Advisor for information technology security and risk management in MAS.

Tony joined MAS in 1999 to head up the Technology Risk Supervision Division. His responsibilities included the development of strategies, programs and guidelines for the purpose of regulating and supervising financial institutions in respect of technology risk management standards and information security processes. He managed and led a team of technology risk specialists who conducted onsite inspections and offsite reviews to monitor the technology risk management capabilities and the effectiveness of information systems security practices prevailing in the financial sector.

Tony began his professional career as a Chartered Accountant, specializing in financial accounting, computer auditing and information systems consulting for over 12 years. He had also held senior management positions in the banking industry.

In addition to accountancy and audit qualifications, Tony has a bachelor's degree in commerce from the University of New South Wales as well as a graduate diploma in data processing and a master's degree in business applied finance from the University of Technology, Sydney.

  Mr. Andrew Milroy

Andrew Milroy is Vice President for ICT Research at Frost & Sullivan, Asia Pacific and joined the firm in 2006. He is responsible for Frost & Sullivan's research and advisory services across the region.

Andrew has spent more than17 years in the ICT industry. He has held senior management roles at IDC and co-founded, NelsonHall, a successful outsourcing advisory firm in the United States. Andrew's recent roles have been focused upon the development of research and consulting activities in Europe, Australia and the AsiaPacific region. His research focus has been ICT services, in particular BPO. He has developed new BPO research and consulting capabilities at Frost & Sullivan He has also led research and consulting projects in cloud computing and sustainable IT.

Andrew frequently delivers presentations to a variety of audiences. He has been quoted widely in the press including 'The Financial Times', The Wall Street Journal and 'Business Week'. He has also appeared on broadcast media globally including CNN, BBC World, Sky and CNBC.

Andrew holds a BSc, an MA in Communication in Computing and an MBA from MGSM. He also holds a diploma in Marketing from UK-based Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Nitin Mahajan is a co-leader of Monitor's ICT practice based in the Singapore. He has advised numerous technology and telecom solutions providers on a range of strategic issues including: 5-year corporate strategies, go-to-market strategies, technology roadmap evolution, etc.

Nitin is originally from India, have lived and worked in over 25 countries. His recent client engagements include: Developed 5-year ICT and Media sector partnership strategy for a leading Malaysian operator, Developed technology roadmap and marketing strategy for a large S.E Asian roadmap, Evaluated emerging technologies / adjacencies (such as cloud computing solutions, etc) as part of growth strategies for multiple Asian telecom operators and many more.

Prior to joining Monitor, he worked for A.T. Kearney (a management consulting firm) and leading technology consulting firms such as Hughes. He has a MBA from INSEAD and B.E in Electronics & Communication Engg. from Delhi College of Engg.

Apart from professional interests Nitin enjoys table tennis (ex-state level player), speaking at industry events on strategic / technology issues, and mentoring budding entrepreneurs on developing sustainable business-plan / strategy.

  Mr. Peter Morgan

Agency for Integrated Care

Peter Morgan is the CIO for the Agency for Integrated Care, the recently created agency responsible for referral and care coordination for Singaporians. He is also Program Director, Community and Integrated Care for MOH Holdings. MOH Holdings is an operating agency of the Ministry of Health, and is responsible for Singapore's national IT strategy.

Prior to coming to Singapore, Peter was Vice-President, Business Development for McKesson UK. McKesson is the largest healthcare IT services company in the world. Peter was responsible for developing new business using the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) project for the NHS. ESR is the world's largest HR/Payroll database. He also led the assessment of clinical and business intelligence systems' opportunities in the UK and Europe.

Other healthcare IT work includes co-writing a telehealth sustainability study for the Alaska Federal Health Care Access Network, having operational responsibility for telehealth networks in Canada, and being a consultant to Health Canada.

His other work experiences includes managing primary education projects, on behalf of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), with the Chinese Ministry of Education, in isolated parts of China, and working with North American telephone companies on internet telephony projects.

He has a BA in Political Science from McGill University and a B.Ed. from Queens University.

Over the past eighteen years, Mark has worked in a range of technology infrastructure roles at Merrill Lynch and Bank of America in Sydney, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore. Sandeep joined Credit Suisse in 2006 and is responsible for managing the regional budget and providing the planning for Asia Pacific IT strategy. Additionally his role covers performance management, sourcing strategy, and governance for IT in the region. As the COO for IT APAC, Sandeep heads up portfolio management of IT related projects and internal and external communication for IT, as well as sourcing and vendor management. Notably, Sandeep was involved in setting up of the Centre of Excellence for Credit Suisse in Pune (India), which won the Forbes Applied Innovation Award for the work that he has contributed to the setting up of the Centre.

Sandeep has a Master's Degree in Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology. And a work experience of over 20 years covering areas such as IT Management, Project and Program Management, Systems Implementation, Banking IT in Emerging Markets, IT Strategic Planning and Applications Architecture, Solutions development and roll out as well as Consulting.

Prior to joining Credit Suisse Sandeep worked at various firms and banks including ABN Amro, Oracle, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Wellington City Council and Standard Chartered Bank.

 
 
 
  Mr. Pervez Kazmi

Pervez is responsible for IT architecture for the Global Transaction Banking business of Deutsche Bank and has regional responsibility for IT architecture across APAC. He is part of the group that defines technology standards for use across the Bank's IT organisation. Pervez has a passion for applying architecture-based approaches to achieve well-aligned and optimal IT solutions, supported by governance and management processes.

Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Pervez served in government IT organisations in Singapore for eight years, taught IT at the National University of Singapore for 10 years, and worked in private sector organisations in Singapore, USA and Australia for 10 years. Pervez has a BSc in Computer Systems Engineering from Loughborough University and an MSc in Computation from University of Oxford. With over 25 years in the IT industry, Sue Bartlett, CIO DHL Supply Chain Asia Pacific, understands IT innovation and its importance in the modern business environment. In her time at DHL Sue has been responsible for the development and implementation of the IT Strategy for Asia Pacific, leveraging regional organizational and technological resources to deliver an improved solution set, which meets customer and business demands for improved functionality but greater ease of use, better service levels and achieves significant cost reductions. Responsible for continuous innovation across numerous platforms and dealing with multiple vendors, Sue has encouraged her team to focus not only on the immediate operational needs of customers but on exercising governance of the architecture to ensure robust, supportable and scalable solutions.

Prior to joining DHL, Sue spent over 20 years with Unilever in Europe, Japan and South East Asia before becoming a director of the CIO Executive Council of Australia where set up a Senior Advisory Committee for the IT Industry to define a blueprint for a CIO. The matrix of skills and competencies for a "professional" CIO they developed was used by three major Australian Universities to develop post-graduate executive programs.

 
 
 
  Mr. KC Chong

KC Chong is currently based at Singapore and responsible for the Honeywell IT infrastructure operations covering the Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa and Middle East Regions for its 60000 end users across the 50+ countries. For this role, KC leads a team of Honeywell staffs and partners in various countries delivering key IT infrastructure services. These services include the planning, implementation and operations covering Connectivity, Telecommunication, Mobility, Data Center & Application Hosting, Messaging, Service Desk, File & Print, Onsite Dispatch, and Security & Compliance. The key focus has been enabling business growth and driving customer satisfaction by adopting the relevant new technology and driving various productivity initiatives with an annual budget in excess of $100M.

In addition, KC is also the leader for the Global ITSM operations which manage the global Service Desk and respective service operations such as Change, Problem, Configuration, Knowledge management utilizing the ITIL framework.

KC joins Honeywell in 2003 as its AsiaPac IT Infrastructure Director and has also held the position of Global Architecture from 2007-2009; he also co-lead the effort to start a captive IT Infrastructure global support team in India which has grown in excess of 70 personnel supporting all regions, its success has spawn another center at Brno, Czech Repulic.

Prior to joining Honeywell, KC spent 11 years with Motorola growing its Asia IT operations. He also spent 4 years with the Republic of Singapore Navy as a Technical Officer and now holds a Major rank in its reserve unit. KC is married with 2 daughters. His hobby includes jogging, photography and travel.

Chee Yuen is currently the Senior Vice President and Head, Innovation & Technology, and Operation Services Department of Resorts World at Sentosa Pte Ltd. In this position, he manages a team who provides and support a comprehensive range of IT services (including IT system design and development, project consultancy, IT services management) related to the gaming and resort industries.

Under his leadership, Resorts World Sentosa has won the category for Most Innovative Use of Infocomm Technology for the CMS (Customer, Membership & Services System for the Integrated Resort) Project under the Private Sector category for the National Infocomm Awards on 7th October 2010. Most recently on 22 September 2010, Chee Yuen was recognized as one of the Most Outstanding Chief Information Officers (CIOs) in the ASEAN region by the CIO Awards in Hanoi, one of ASEAN's most prestigious IT awards.

Chee Yuen has over 28 years of experience in managing end user IT organizations and has actively initiated the web-enablement journey for organizations he served. Prior to Resorts World, he had served in the CIO position for JTC Corporation, JIT Electronics Ltd and Acer Computer International Ltd. He had over 12 years of IS management experience with IBM Singapore.

Chee Yuen graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a First Class Honors Bachelor Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He obtained a Masters in Business Administration from NUS and was recognized for his academic excellence with award of the Tan Kah Kee scholarship during his university education. He has also completed the Advanced Management Program at INSEAD in France and the e-Government program at Harvard.

Gary graduated from the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) with a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (Hons). Andrew is the security consultant for Check Point's key customers in Singapore. He is a well-known security advocate and industry speaker. He has more than 10 years of IT industry experience, helping government, telecommunications and commercial companies with their networks.

Prior to joining Check Point, Andrew worked as Chief Technologist for Nokia Enterprise Solutions in Singapore, supervising sales engineers and managing technical support for customers and channel partners around the Asia/Pacific region, across 14 countries including China and Japan.

Andrew brings with him over 20 years of experience in the data communications and security industry. He started his career on the field as a lead engineer with IBM UK where he was responsible for building secure banking infrastructure. He then worked with MCI WorldCom as a VPN/PKI implementation specialist in EMEA. In 2000, Andrew joined Nokia UK as a European senior technical consultant before taking on the role of technology manager and subsequently engineering manager for EMEA.

Andrew holds an Engineering Honors Degree in mechanical engineering with specialization in robotics and artificial intelligence.

Steve East is an advisor to Hitachi Data Systems' largest global customers on business-driven storage architectures, best practices and innovations in technology, and IT operations that can improve the consumption, management and exploitation of SAN, NAS, and other storage infrastructure technologies. He has held various leadership roles at Hitachi Data Systems, including Vice President of Solution Development and Director of Performance Management. He recently acted as the chief architect of a 2-year global storage project for a major customer in the energy sector.

Prior to joining Hitachi Data Systems in 1998, East spent 16 years with Amdahl Corporation, where he held technical roles in support, sales, and R&D and management roles in system test, technical marketing, and technology research. Since joining Hitachi Data Systems, he has worked to develop open standards for storage management and to drive a customer-oriented solution delivery approach, leveraging technology with partners to solve complex customer problems. He conceived and drove the development of HiCommand Device Manager, bringing Hitachi Data Systems' first storage management product to market in 2001.
